Does anyone have a picture of a G with a sickle bar mower?

I have parts manual, and not a operators manual.

I do need the correct belt number if anyone knows it, otherwise that is one I can find on my own by trial and error and error.

Before anyone jumps on my back I will get a operators manual, but you know if you get a new toy, a old boy can't wait like he should.

Also did they give the mower, cultivator, plow etc. model numbers? My experience with a search seems to be a pain in the rear. Perhaps I do not enter the correct search words. Thanks in advance. Dave NE IA

Thanks Jerry, This form usualy has the answers, I have not taken the time to check out the mower that a good ol boy gave me, but seems to need nothing, even the belt if it is correct is new in the pack. Warm weather will get me going, although NE IA has had global warming this winter, and we kind of like it. Some farmers or actualy only a few have done some field work. Never heard of in my life time.

Do you have a G? A friend of mine is Joe Ertl and owns Scale Models in Dyersville Ia. So if you see a G made by Scale Models they used our G for patterns. Makes it kind of special for our kids. Thanks again Dave NE IA

Hi Dave I have the AC/G my dad bought new in 1950 with a plow, Field cultivator,& sickle mower. It has always been in the family and has served as the primary bread winner for a while (my dad used it raising tobacco, share cropping, custom work in the community & with a small trailer, served as the means of transportation for a family of 8 for a while. It has been in my posession for about 45 years & I am in the process of restoring it with about 75% completed.I have a lifetime of stories I could tell about growing up with the little AC/G.I have 2 of the Scale Models By Joe Ertel.I would send you some copies of pictures of the #4 sickle mower from my manual if I knew where to send them.

Jerry, Memories being good, sometimes brings us back to a place of realizing how good we have it and what sacrafices our older generation have given to us. My children could use a good dose of reality if we could only make certian it was a real dose and short term. Perhaps my parents tried to tell me the same.

The Scale Models we have we tried to make certian Joe signed them, and he would be more than happy to do so for you if you can get them to him. He is a real swell guy, far above me in his income level yet is as common as they get. Joe made many models for the Ertl Co. like the IH 560 etc. and has a real talent.

My address is Dave Bacon PO box 84 204 West Watson St. Garnavillo, Iowa 52049 I will certianly make it right with you.

Thanks for your kindness Dave NE IA
