when timming my WC with a WD engin in it I marked the fly wheel on the F mark at the bottom side of the bell housing when the engin is running the mark is 1 1/2 inches to the left of the center of the hole with a timming light,the magneto is turned to the side as far as it can go,Question should it be fireing right on the middle of the hole? if so how can I make it move any more?

The "F" mark should be centered in the inspection hole when the engine is at fast idle.

It's been a while. I think the magneto drive gear can removed from the engine without removing the govenor.

Run the engine up on TDC, #1 cylinder. REmove the magneto drive housing and magneto drive gear. Reinstall the magneto drive gear - you will be advancing the magneto drive gear one or two teeth.

It may take several tries to get the magneto gear in the correct location.

If this information is incorrect there will be a number of responses telling me I'm full of it.

i'm not familar with the WD but if its a FM mag there may be a set of gears under rotor button that can be timed...i've seen them get out of time there too...theyre under a little plate...remember to make sure youre on compression stroke when you set flywheel on TDC.
