Can't get old allis chalmers to start

tractor hasn't run for 2 years. Changed plugs points and condensor. Have power to distributor and plugs. gas runs out of carb. will fire when starter engaged but won't continue. what's wrong?

After you check the float level on the carb, You may need to revisit your point gap as well.

One of two things if gas is running out of the carb. Either the seat is not working properly, or the float is set too high. Don

steve,if gas is running out of the carb your float is sticking.try rebuilding the carb.good luck

I had a WD that wouldn't start.It sat over two years in a barn without running.I had gas,I had spark,I checked valve tolerances,but it would not start.When I hooked a chain to it,it fired right off,and I ran it a long time.Shut it off would not start,you could pull it 2 feet and it hit.So I took the new 6 volt battery,and generator off,and got me a alternator and a twelve volt battery,and it cranks easier than my pick up.The only thing that I could figure was it took too much fire to turn it over,and was lacking fire on the coil side.Whatever it was,it has been cranking for a year now.Good luck.....jAcK

If any body knows, I know. If your tractor has an updraft carburator with the intake on top of the exhaust manifold (2 piece manifold) the air/gas mixture goes through a pipe in the exhaust manifold. Time burns holes in the pipe and makes the tractor run bad at first, then it will fire but wont run. Split the manifold and turn down a new pipe and press it in and you are as good as new. Let me know if its your problem.
