Where do I start? I once saw a web page to help identify the model. Dad gave me it, says it 1950, no serial #, orange, has a engine that is oh so sligtly different shade of orange. Engine has 2 numbers on the block u3019-31 and W215361. There is a front bucket with hydralic rams, ram ser. # 3143 The Ottawa Model WFE. Hydralic tank on the right side. Straight gear shift. Brake levers on a cam system on the large rear wheels, plus 2 foot pedal brakes, right side. The front wheels are wide apart versus the tricycle ones I see in the manual. The magneto has x4B24 #3697848. Has Throttle/governor lever on right of steering colum along with a loop pull lever for the choke. The batter is on th eleft near the clutch pedal. There is a separate start button- kill button. Has 2 hydralic lines to the rear with old gate valves, and a pin-type hitch. I have limited mechanical skills. I have a manual (I&T Shop Service) that is for models; B,C,CA,G,RC,WC,WD,WD45, & WF. Not knowing the model make following the manual. It"s on a trailer and I would at least like to get it started to move it to the shop. Dad overhauled the engine but couldn"t time it. I have the clutch inspec. plate off looking for the "F" on the flywheel. Any hints where to find the "F"? You all are great and thanks for the info.

ok seems talk centers on the transmission. The trans. sits right under the starter, then 6" behind the starter is the gear shifter, straight with the reverse lever thingy on the shifter. No curve or bend in the shifter except a sort of a joint at the boot where it goes into the transmission. The starter sits 8-10 back of the joint betwen the trans. & engine. The foot brakes look like they are used to set the hand brakes, the cam-action hand brake on the rear wheels. I failed to mention a pump (hydralic?) mounted on the front, right below the radiator, but sticking out foward. I still would like to find that "F" on the flywheel, to get that magneto set, timed. Is the "F" on the flywheel, right next to the cogs (teeth) and readily visable? Then I can get it off the trailer. "It's power wasted, chained to that trailer" Augh!!!

Need photos? Where do they go? Or email to you?

The way you describe it makes it tough to tell. Somethings say WD (1950 and straight gear shift) somethings say WC (battery placement hydraulics throttle)

Better way to tell is serial Number. On all of these it is on the rearend about 6" to a foot above the platform. There is no plate but the number is stamped in the rearend. WC's in the center of the pumpkin, WD and 45's near the top of the left brake housing.

From your discription sounds like you have something some one else Custom built from several other parts Tractors.WC had a gear Shift like an old Truck with a toggle lever to allow Reverse engagement.WD up to change over time had a Straight Gear shift while WD45 after change over time had a curved shift lever. You said nothing about a Power diverter lever so I assume it does not have one. Brakes? WC had Hand brakes to my rememberance while WD/WD45 had foot brakes.

Ok from what you say I'd guess its a WD. But heres a couple question. Is the tranny right behind the engine or is there a big tube sort of thing between the engine and the tranny?? If your not sure heres another way of saying it. Is the tranny right under the starter or is it back about 18inches or so maybe not that far?? Saying hand brakes says WC but having foot brakes also sounds like an add on thing. Stright shifter says WD. If its a WC the shifter should be sort of long and have a curve down close to the tranny then come back about 2 foot.
