What is the firing order for a 1950 WD? If the firing order is 1-3-2-4 (or whatever), which spark plug wire goes to which plug on the distributor? In other words, how do I tell where to run my spark plug wires when it comes to connecting them from distributor to plugs?

I hope I'm asking that question so you can understand it! Thanks for the help!!

I believe the firing order is 1 3 4 2, as this is the firing order of all the allis machines I own..... not to mention MM445 Jet Star

The firing order is 1243, number one being the front piston. That piston needs to be at TDC on the COMPRESSION stroke- take out #1 plug, hold your finger in the hole while another person slowly turns the engine over. When the air pushes on your finger, you are on the compression stroke. You can insert a long wire into the plug hole to determine exact TDC. With the distributor cap or magneto cap off, you'll see the position of the rotor- that posiotion is for #1 wire. Direction of rotation indicates 2,4,3.

Fireing order should be stamped on the side of the engine. Then to find out which nipple on the cap is number one you need to remove the cap. and then turn the engine over till its at TDC one #1 piston and see where the rotor is pointing. 1243 is the order by the way. You also need to notice which way the rotor is turning
