My father has around 13 restored AC tractors including Bs, CAs, Cs, WDs, and a G. He will need to begin to sell them within a year or two and we are wondering what is the best way to go about it, tp find out what they are worth, etc. They are in mint condition including one that has a brass radiator. He also has many, many parts. He is from Massachusetts and has won awards at the fairs over the years. They really are beautiful pieces of machinery. Any help would be very much appreciated.

My suggestions:

Start scanning newspapers in your area for tractor consignment auctions. Consignment auctions are popular in the midwest and a great place to buy or sell farm related equipment.

Is there is an annual farm power show with auction in your area? This would be a great place to sell some of the better machines.

The least hassle would be to have a well advertised auction on the farm. You wouldn't have to transport the equipment to an off farm auction. Transportation costs are going to be a major expense for a off farm auction.

E-bay. Put the individual tractors and pieces of equipment up for auction.

AcIdaho has a good idea , wheather it"s a boy or girl the youth need a good hobby , it"s git"s them out of the house and active in a wholesum family activity.

My suggestion would be to subscribe to a magazine like Antique Power and begin watching the current ads and auctions. There are several major antique tractor auctions every year, and several auctioneers that hold them. You may be able to find just such an auctioneer in your area or one that will be in your area in the future, to consult with about values and marketing. While none of the tractors you mentioned are extremely rare, very good examples of these individual tractors can be worth some major dollars.

If you have a son/grandson, pass spmething to them....even if they don't seem interested. Everyone needs a healthy hobby to keep them straight. Good things could come from it.

Get some pic's on this forum and you'll probably move most of it. :) Chuck
