The lift arms on my WD 45 are stuck in the "up" position. Any suggestions?

If its still plumbed up in the original way only one cylinder does the "hold position" work. Most likely there is a problem in the linkage and the hold position check valve ball isn't getting lifted off its seat. Get a copy of the manual and read up on the "hold position" valve assembly. Easy way to check is to remove the forward-most hyd line from the hold position valve. I'll bet it'll squirt oil all over the place and your implement will drop like a ton of bricks. If so, the problem is in the valve.

Lift arms do not normally come down due to their own weight. When you say they are stuck, is there a mounted implement on them? Then they should come down with the lift lever lowered.

yes there is a blade attached. Additionally, when I stand on the blade and try to weight it down a bit to get it to lower, it will not.

Check the valve to see if its wroking right and also the cylinder either one can/will cause the problem

Thanks, Where is the valve that I check, and how do I do it? Also, how do I determine if the cylinder is bad?

Very unlikely to be a cylinder problem. The OPERATOR manual shows details on adjusting the several controls on the hydraulic system. Buy that first to learn the controls, adjustments, lube, etc. of a really good tractor.
