D 15 Wheelweights?

The D15 that santa brought me had wheel weights on it. They are labeled E ROWE FDRY D15 MARTINSVILLE ILL

Did the Allis folks use these or are they aftermarket? People keep asking me and I have to say "Idoknow"

Personally i think they look fine on there and will keep them mounted after restoration.

I have a set just like the ones you are talking about on my D14. I bought them from a old dealer in the area. I paid $150 for the set. They weigh 203 pounds each. They are nice because you dont have to take them off to adjust the wheels in or out.

I personally like something about those chunks of pig iron. You are right they seem to be well engineered and I am gonna mount them back on in the restoration process. I had no idea they would weigh 200, but they did seem to hold their end of the cherrypicker down when i took them off

I found that the mounting bolts were starting to show considerable decrease in diameter close to the nut from rust. Doubt, if they would ever drop off some day, but they would certainly hurt your toe if you did.

From what I have seen, all AC weights have casting numbers starting with AM- and don't have a name on them.
