D 15 Series II valve train Ques?

I took a few things off the outside of the motor of the tractor that santa brought me. It had a few decades of junk and a lot of ice inside the valve cover, and some loose sounding rockers.

Anyway, I threw all the ice out of the top end and decided to take the rockers off and look at each one to make sure the oil hole was open. This question pertains to cracks in the post (don't know the official name) that the rocker stud from the head goes thru and it supports the rocker tube.

Two of the posts had cracks on each side of where the tube goes thru. The cracks seem to only go down the post about 1/8 of an inch. One of the post had a crack from where the stud goes thru to the outside at the smooth point where the nut screws down on the stud.

I don't get it. These posts are tightened down and never move or flex. Could it be that they were cracked from day one since 1963 or has anyone seen these things break apart on a motor? They are definitely not made out of unobtanium but would just cause me to put up with one more nut roll (I mean have fun) locating a couple.

I think it is metal fatigue, have taken some loose on WC - WD45 that fell in two pcs.or more.
