D-15 vs D-17 differences

There is a local widow that has her husband's 1965 allis for sale. It is a TS-500 TLB (tractor/loader/backhoe). The dataplate/serial number is missing and she doesn't know if it is a D-15,17 or 18. Is there a way I can quickly tell? It has D6L embossed on the left side of the engine if that helps and the hand clutch/torque converter is on the left. My Dad had a D-17 on the farm when I was a kid and it seemed the hand clutch was on the right. Is there a way to tell what this is?
It is very clean, oils look good and no major cracks in hoe or dippers. It hasn't run in ~ 4years, but she said she thought everything was fine on it. What might it be worth if it runs good?

If it has a TL 500 loader it is likely a 61 or 62 D-17. If the BIG STICK is on the left side, it has the shuttle clutch. This is the same for both the D-15 and 17. The D-17 has a short straight gear shift lever. The D-15 has a curved gear shift that goes back under the seat.

You hit it. I did get it - the left lever is a shuttle shift and the shift is crved under - a D15. Now if I can figure out if it is a series II or not, I will be all set. Thanks for the help!

On a D-17 the wet clutch is on the right side of steering wheel, not sure on a D-15 try to locate some pics in photo gallery on this site also my D-17 has 28" tires on it I beleve D-15 has 24" tires but not sure good luck Greg
