And buy tools and engine parts with it. You can fix it yourself with a few simple hand tools as shown in the link.
The engine in the pictures is out of a B but it would be the same principal with yours. You can pull it back togather.

It sounds like the crack in your engine looks like the ones in the first picture. Click on the picture to enlarge it.

Oops! my bolt question was for Dick not Zonie. The reason I am concered is I think my B has this problem its working OK but somebody at one time stuffed it full of stop leak. I also need to know what size bolt and bolt torque or am I over analying the fix.

If it is not leaking and not over heating I would not give it a thought until I had to overhaul it. Back a little before my time but not by much they used to stuff horse apples in the radiators for stop leak. Only worked for a short time but with an ample supply the tractors could stay in the field. Those stories were told to me by men that are now gone. Time will come that they will be gone. When told, I must say, the story was about dumb things someone did but seemed to work. Not as something to try the next time you had a radiator leak.

Dick L, thanks for all the info, your right the cracks looks like the one"s in Pic #1. One problem is there is no freeze plugs in this block. The numbers on the side are B-16-F and lower on the block is 45-55632. My question is, can I still drill and tap it even tho it doesn"t have the plugs? If possible I would like to talk to you, you can E-M me direct at [email protected]
thanks again for your help

You will have to make your own freeze plug with a pipe plug. Drill the hole out for a pipe tap. I used a 1/2" tie bole in the pictures but a 3/8" bolt will work just as well. My Allis C has a 3/8" tie bolt. Depends on what small tools you have to work with, you might have to go to a 3/4" pipe plug. You will have to dust the rough off around the hole so the bolt head will seal. After the pipe plug is in it cand be ground flush and it will be hard to spot after painted.
