I have a S#17-36473-m engine in my wc.It has 140 psi in each cylinder.Fuel pump blocker plate.Is it D17 or gleaner engine? What Hp might it have?It does not smoke or burn oil. thanks you.john b

It sounds to me as if you have a Gleaner E engine. The tractor engine didn't have any provision for a fuel pump. It could possible be a power unit engine.

All the Gleaner engines had fuel pumps but not sure if the D 17 had the plates. Probly did. The neighbor has a D 17 and I would be glad to take a look at it. At least when it warms up some. He would like to see me as I have had his Oliver carbuartor rebuilt for weeks.
Now John! What made you start messin with Allis.
Missed seeing you guys this last year.

Question for anyone that can help me. I have a 63 allis chalmers D19 gas engine tractor that will not sty running ive done everything from new electrical to taking the gas tank off and having it cleaned to new fuel lines. the tractor will start but will only stay running for about 2-3 minutes then it dies and wont restart, would it be my carburator, any usefull ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Remember the rhubarb at Auburn over Jason slipping in with those old wore down combine tires several years back. Keven or your Dad will. Those tires stuck like glue. They were larger than what the rules for Auburn would allow at the time. He ran them over in Ohio and was real hard to beat. I got him once at Defiance in the 4500 but was due to track choice on a wet track drying out different on one side than the other. That was due to luck or maybe watching the tracks made by Dueys sled every pull.

I miss seen you to always a good time.I did not get out much this summer.Working 7 days a week.Did get my new engine in slow mo.It is pullin stronge --no smoke--.I also got dads new big engine in for finished.Kevin won NATPA 3500 at Waeson on sat.AC came from a friend at work.I traded 4 wheeler ATV for it.I wanted it for a starter puller for my kids.They like pulling are minni mo and dads ford.They asked me if we could trade ATV off for a puller.I thought it might be a gleaner like Jason E old wd45.His seem to be a good puller. So I thought a cheap easy project.You merry christmas also.Maybe if you come to motoplex pull I will see ya then.Or I will have to take the kids up your way to play this summer with there new toy and slow mo. I only started the 77 once after the manifold failed at the motoplex over a year ago. That was when I put on a good manifold and checked it out. I put the Chevy small block valves in the old C. I opened the firing chamber to large for the sleeve size. A small portion of the head gasket sealing ring was exposed to the firing chamber. I am guessing that it worked like a glow plug. I could not get the spark knock to go away. The Head gasket went while I was working it out in the field. The sealing ring in the head gasket burned thru. I have been using the Allis B to plow and it is ready to pull if I can find funds to buy fuel for the tractors and truck.

I had 2 445 MM and I sold the other one when I was redoing slow mo .It was doing alot of winning every one thought sence the family pulled it to it was mine.It runnig around 60Hp.I gave some help to a friend he did real well also.I did real well with slow mo last part of the summer.It runs strong 5500 class now to.Had mostly top 3placing.Yes I remember them tires Jason ran.Do you rember Mark Maybiss & his wc unstlyed?It ran just like Jasons.But had smaller tires. I think 14-9-26.We can not run any thing but race fuel in Ford or slow mo compression is to high it spark knock.No timing works good. Put race fuel in more power problem gone.Hope to pull agaist the AC & 77. se ya JohnIII
