Ive been offered the opportunity to purchase a styled wc. Dont remember serial # offhand but im thinking it is 42-45 model as it has a steel rearend. Engine is stuck and rear rims are rusted out but is otherwise complete. Has been sitting outside for 20+ years. From browsing archives and reading posts, a running wc goes for about 4-6 hundred.I was thinking of making an offer somewhere in the area of $50-$100. Any opinions? Too high, too low?

Your in the ball park as far as price. Also if you need parts I have a WD that I'm parting out. If you do buy it fill the cylinders with tranny fluid and it may pop loose. I have a Farmall H that had sat like that for 25 years and I did that and it popped loose and runs like it was never locked up and I didn't even pull the head.

Your figures sound about right to me. I have both a unstyled and a styled version so I know something about these old gals.

In fact I think they lost most of there value back in late 48 when the WD with hydraulics came on scene. My 45 was bought new by my Uncle and its the only tractor he kept and I'm sure he had at least 20 additional tractors after this one. I have always assumed he kept it because he couldn't get anything for it.

I just converted my unstyled WC to spoked wheels and new tires ( it was on 100% steel ) and I bet I now have about twice whats it worth tied up in it.
