I have acquired what I believe to be an Allis Chalmers all crop 60 combine with 125 cid power unit Any advice on this machine and where can a person get parts/operation literature?

I think he was refering to straight or flared on the header. The model 60 and 66 are preaty much the same except the header has straight side shields coming out of the cylinder. Where the 66 flairs out about 3" on each side about 1.5 feet from the cylinder giving you about 6 more inches on the header size.

Try www.yazallcrop.com for more information & parts. Manuals show up pretty often on eBay but not much in the way of parts. I have a very nice All-Crop 66 that I've almost got back in running condition (not for sale lol!) and an All-Crop 60 parts combine. Let me know if you have more questions. Mike

Thanks for your interest earthmasterk; I am in Melba, Idaho.

I am new to this discussion site and now realize that this item of discussion should be under "implements" rather than here; sorry. Also in walking around the site there is already a bunch of stuff on this combine including photos. I am very impressed.

In the way of discussion,I purchased this thing at auction on a whim (have a place to store it, but don't know what I'll do with it). But old stuff is neat and I will do something with it.

It didn't take long to realize that I had also purchased a "challenge" since it had 4 flat tires and needed to be moved through the Boise/Meridian area.

The tires were no problem; just money at the tire store. There was a fear that all wheel bearings were gone when each of the hubs appeared to have severe slop. Closer inspection of a hub showed bronze sleeve bearings in good shape. (Please put up with me, I'm a collector not an old farmer).

Pulling this thing home is the way to do it, but one must realize that it must be nearly 12 feet wide. When pulled center-on a vehicle, there is a lot of overhang to the left, and one must use caution. Use plenty of red flags and a triangle slow vehicle sign. I would recommend ginning up a hitch to the extreme right of the tow vehicle.

Anyhow I have moved this thing part of the way home and have it staged at my sister's house. One more stupid question; is there separate serial for the combine different than the little power unit?

Thanks, Bud Dawson

With 4 tires you must have either the dual wheel or tandem axle option as they orignaly had only 2 tires and does it have the spoke wheel (earlier) or disk wheel (later) unit? Does it have an auger in the bottom of the grain hopper? Later with auger. I have had a 43, a 44, and 53 model 60 but the 44 was the only one with an engine. the 60 has straight sides to the platform whill the 66 has the flair sides and the 72 has the auger. The very early 60 combines did not have an auger to unload the hopper but used the same elevator to unload as filled the hopper. And anything Allis is good in the Allis forum, does not have to go to implement forum.

Mr. Leroy and others:

This unit has the tandum option as referenced in the yazallcrop.com site. The disc type wheels are sized 6.50-16. The power unit must have been an available option too.

Closer inspection (and measurement) shows it to be a 66 model. The 66 decal still is visible at the rear.

It has a bottom auger and a "clutched" elevator auger on what I would call the front of the hopper.

With Mr. Coulter's guidance, the serial to the combine is B10235.

Straight sides/flair sides on the platform?? I'll have to look.

Thanks for everyone's help. Bud

The combine serial number is located just beneath the large door on the left side.
