I"m buying a WD with a mounted picker and I was wondering what a price would be for a AC loader that went on those tractors. I have my great-grandpa"s two bottom plow and cult. that goes with it as well and now just want the loader as well. Thanks.

Well, tried to drop an address of this web site and it won't let me do that. Go to the picture ads, click on tractors and look for WD loader. Full hydraulics came off of WD45 for $800.

Typically the trip bucket loaders for the WD`s and WD45`s run between $100 and $300. There isn't really a lot of difference between the AC and the Paulson, and a couple other makers. There are a lot of them that are aren`t in very good shape, but even one with new hoses and great cylinders won`t usually bring near $500.

I will tell you that I looked hard about two years ago. What I found was that the loaders for the tricycle tractors was much cheaper than for the spread wheels. I found a number of loaders for the tricycle in the $200 to $300 price range. I finally found a loader for my spread wheel WD in a salvage yard up in Central Illinois. I gave $650 for it and then sandblasted and painted it acryllic enamel. I replaced the hoses and replaced the jack legs. The J bolts that hold it to the frame had to be made in a machine shop locally. The loader works good and the WD hydraulics are very strong. Unfortunately, I only got a trip bucket. Some of the guys on here had plans to adapt a full hydraulic bucket to the WD. This involves a lot of alteration to the hydraulics and I did not want to mess with that. I bought a Kubota and I do not need the bucket now. If you are interested and need a WD9 loader that will fit a spread wheel WD, drop me an E mail and we will talk.

Can you tell me what the difference is between a narrow front loader and a wide front? The tractor frame is identical, so I'm not seeing what or why there would be a difference.

I think there are a few brands of loaders that used very straight arms with a low attach point. These might not clear a wide front end. I can"t say that I have ever seen more than one or two on an Allis tractor, but this could be the kind this person is talking about. I"ve seen a few like this on old JD and Farmall tractors.
