Allis Chalmers tractors 100 year i 2006?

Hallo All

I�m editor for the Danish Old-timer Tractor Magazine �Motor- og Traktorklubben Jylland� and have got a little problem about Allis Chalmers.

One of our readers have given me a copy of an old folder from the beginning of the fifties from a Danish dealer of Allis Chalmer in Denmark � it says that Allis Chalmers have produced tractors as early as in 1906. And therefore we have to celebrate their 100-year jubilee.

In all the paper I have, I can�t find anything - development, production or something like that either then 1912 which have with farming to do.

Can anybody give me a hint or confirm?

Is it possible that your reader is really referring to Advance-Rumely releases.

Looking from CH Wendel's excellent reference, it appears that 1914 was the first production year of an actual AC farm tractor. Falk took over the company in 1912 and immediately wanted to diversify into farm tractors, Wendel implies it was concieved in 1912. Norm Swinford agrees on the 1914 production but shows 1913 as point of conception. Whichever, it really appears it was General Falk talking over the company which caused the immediate leap in to farm tractors.
