i have a 35 wc. sometimes you can hand start it on the first or second pull and other times you have to pull it. also i pull it and when it gets a load on it it makes a pooping noise but it never dies out. what can i do to fix this problem.

Your Engine required Hand oiling of the Rocker Arms . Oil them real good with Engine oil and if this does not help then next check the compression .Next run the Rack or rather set your Lifter to Valve Clearance ,then check your timing. Too much advance will give smooth Idle and eratic High RPM.Adjust Carb as last resort.

Popping could be backfire or a bad valve. If its backfire from the carb area I'd say your running it to lean. If its from the exhaust then you may have a valve sticking or burned. Not really enough info to give you a real good answer. Theres a lot of other things that could be wrong.

it is not a backfiring sound. you can just tell thatit is not running smooth. i was thinking itis in the carb also. i probably need to put a kit in it. my 620 jd was backfiring awhile back and it was the condenser and points. it is not doing like it was.
