Has anyone out there tried to put a starter/generator on a B that didn't come with an electric starter?? I just had to have surgery on my broken wrist caused by crank start. Don't think I want to chance it again..
Thanks in advance.

Just visited a boneyard today. Saw a really bizzare, but ingenious setup on an old B. It had a flywheel mounted where the belt pulley normally goes and a starter mounted to the seat frame. Kinda out there in the open..... keep yer shirtail tucked in!

I'm pretty sure I can get you the torque tube and other parts needed. Give me a call at (520)834-4242 or send me an email.

The Allis Scrap yards should have torque tubes that has the starter openings at resonable costs. When parting out tractors the final drives and torque tubes will be the last to go. You can mount a generator on your B without the bosses. Or not use the generator at all. Just charge the battery with a battery charger after a few uses.
If lack of funds is involved it can be done in steps and still be able to use the tractor.

if youre talking about the combo units that cushmans had it would be worth a try...you mite have to find a smaller pulley for generator...also if you put one on i'd let it turn over a couple times to gain momentum before you switch ignition on...keep us posted on progress.

It can be done but you need a flywheel and a torque tube, and of course the wireing and switch. I know what you mean about the arm. When I still had a hand crank B it got me once and I had to wear a brace on my arm for a few weeks.
