Good discussion. I have one of these in my 1939 B. Always thought it meant Replacement!

Did notice it had the "combine" oil trough under the rocker studs. Other than that I haven't found any differences. I must confess that it had plenty of power for the 5' Woods belley mower, would slide the belts before the tractor lugged.

So now I know that there is nothing orininal on my electric start foot brake hydraulic equipped '39, since I replaced the finals myself!

The CR engine is a 3.375" bore, 1900 RPM engine used on the 60H pull type combine.

I have not heard of and I can not find anything on CR. Allis made a RC and they made a CA. Could one of those be what you are talking about? As for the PA after the serial number. On the WD the "PA" after the engine serial number meant that it was a high compression engine designed for gasoline only.
