the owners manual calls for 20 WT non detergent oil. Don't use detergent type oil because it can foam up. I use the combination Hydraulic/ Transmission oil works great and you can get it most anywhere. Walmart, farm stores and most autoparts stores.

HI

Any good clean oil , would say if it is good enough for any enghine it is good enough for the HYD system. Only thing I would change from that if your system leaks, god to a thicker oil. It is a 3500 lbs. piston system slower put I have very little trouble with my.

My Operators Manual for the D-14 says SAE 20W at temperatures above 45F and 10W below that temperature. That is the viscosity of a good grade of hydraulic oil. Or non detergent motor oil of that weight is also good. I've used 30AWG non detergent for years and have had no problems, however, I live in Texas where it isn't often below 45F.

I believe the spec would be similar for all Allis tractors through the mid 60's.
