I am restoring an 8550 and I was wondering if there was a factory grille guard for this tractor. Also, does anyone know if there is a parts tractor (7580 or 8550) available near Mississippi? Does anyone have a parts manual or service manual they want to part with? I have the owners manual. How loud are they with straight chrome stacks? Did A/C make a push blade or any other accessories for these tractors?

7580 and 8550 are mostly the same from the cab back. i know there is a difference in the hyd pump suction lines on the rear end but cant tell you what year only that the newer ones are a little different

8550 has cat 4 3pt if installed and 7580 is cat 3
engines and front frame are quite differnt

you can get the manuals from an AC dealer or even under the manuals section of YTMAG

dont know anything about the staight pipes.. both of our 8550's have factory mufflers. my father and i have a 7580 also

Cal, Thank you for the reply. I am going to get into this and see what happens. This is a large project for someone who normally plays with 2 cyl JDs. I will be looking for many parts. Dad already had this tractors pto updated and the replacement updated drop box put in. The pump has been recalabrated and the valves reworked and the rotators exchanged. I believe that should solve the reliability ills.

i have never seen a grill guard or a blade but i have seen some homemade push bars on front. if you put streight pipes on the asperator for the air filter wont work. i dont think many parts off a 7580 will work on a 8550. i have a service manual that i want to keep but i would fax some pages if you need or e mail specs
