Alternator conversion

Have a model C Allis Chalmers tractor which had all electrics removed. I would like to install a simple three wire alternator to charge a 12 volt battery, no lights, but would like to install a voltage gauge. Can any one tell me how to wire this setup. Thanks , dean

Hi Dean,

I assume you have a magneto ignition. If so, you can check out how I converted my '42B. A C should be the same except for a possible clearance problem between the Delco 10SI and the C steering linkage. I understand that a newer version of the Delco has a smaller diameter and is better suited for a C. I don't know the model number. If Steve from B&B Custom Circuits sees your post, I am sure he can help you out also.
