We have a Allis Chalmers D-17 Diesel. The serial number starts with 1110. This tractor has a six cylinder diesel engine in it. I know that the gas tractors have four cylinder engines. I also noticed that on the side of the block says Power Crater on it. I have never been able to find a picture of another tractor like it. I am planning on rebuilding the engine, cluthes, and hydraulics on it and would like to know what parts were orange and what parts were white. Right now the wheels and the grill are white and the rest is orange. It looks sharp like that so I think that is the right color. Any info on the paint or the Power Crater Diesel engine would be helpful.

Power Crater was a decal used on the 226 gas engines....I'd say someone got gas decals and put them on the diesel when it was repainted. There is no such thing as a power crater diesel engine.
