I rebuilt the Zenith carb on my Grandpa's 1950 WD, now it leaks gas out of the air inlet. I have adjusted the loat level and also checked the float for leaks. It seems like the major diameter of the jet is way too big or the needle valve, possibly allowing the naeedle to get out of alignment with the orifice. I feel like I am missing something obviuos on this. Thanks for the help.

Make sure the float isn't rubbing on the bowl someplace or leaking either. Check the float by holding it in a pan of warm water with pliers watching where air bubbles spew out at a leak. Good float repair instructions at thecarburetorshop.com site. Make sure you put a gasket under needle seat and it is the right size one.

Double check that you have the seat as tight as it should be, I've seen more then one leaks from the seat not being tight. Also if its a rubber tiped needle you can get it to seat better if you remove the float and then with a small hammer etc. tap on the seat a little, that sort of shaps the rubber on the end to fit the seat better.
