Does anyone have any tips for loosening the eccentric locks on the adjustable rims on the rear wheels.

I just did ours on the CA took the tire rim and all off put it on the ground and soaked it with PB blaster torch hamer and finaly more soaking then use a good impact and a livetime warenty socket and let it hit swich direction and then hit it again go back and forth forse it with a big bar it may snap off but the vibration of the impact and the penitrating oil helps and this takes a week or two by the way

Yes What a pain in the neck. Just a few things to add, first try to get one to loosen, go for the easyest first, now the rest have room to move. I allways used heat, and a long pipe, any good penetrating oil, along with breaker bar and hit the area around the stud ( using a about 30-36 oz. ) hammer. Remember when tightening them go half way with all and start on the bottom anf finish tightening them. Spray with oil every so often.

I basically have had to do what the others have said. I put mine in a vise set up to hold them, supported under the body of the casting, and beat on the excentric with a good hammer until it would move end to end a little with the snap ring off. Then I was able to turn it with a long pipe on the breaker bar. It can be a tough battle.

If you've tried the normal counterclockwise turning and they didn't come loose they may be frozen. If so this was what I did. I removed tire, hub and rim from the axle hub, unbolted the steel hub from the eccentrics, then knocked them off the rails. I cleaned up all the corrosion/rust I could see and get to and then soaked them with penetrating oil for about a week. Eventually all four unsiezed, I think I had to heat one but be careful of the cast. They were fine when reassembled. This was on a D-14 but it's the no different. Just different shape and size rims. The unusual bolts have to be saved at all costs.

If they did turn all the way to the other counter clockwise stop but the rim won't budge out or in, you may have to surprise it a bit with the clutch. I'd still try some penetrating oil if they haven't been adjusted for years. Seems unlikely but it could be possible to break something if they are one with the rail.

If they cannot be moved with a wrench...you can soak them etc for a while and keep trying. What I do is take the entire wheel (center and all) off the tractor. I then take out the eight bolts that hold the eccentric body to the centers. I then take a 3 by 10 that I keep in the shop (its about 4 ft long) and keep taping the center until it falls out. Note that there is the pressure of the eccentrics on the four points and will kick a little when it comes loose. At this point the eccentris and be removed from the rails and cleaned. I clean them by removing the snap ring and usually press them out although sometimes I can drive them out with a brass bolt. After a good cleaning I coat the interior with anti seize and reassemble. They work great after all that but then I guess you asked how I would do it. Good luck, Den
