I have a 1938 Model B Allis chalmers tractor and it has almost all origanl parts and now doesnt run very good. I am thinking about rebuilding it and was wandering about the price range of an estimated cost. I wont be albe to work on it for several months because i am in Iraq right now and am getting home in March but i was wandering if i could get info on it right now so i can start raising money to fix it. Also could you tell me how much brand new tires for it would cost?

If it is just rough and doesn't smoke too much (like mine was), you can get away with rebuilt mag ($200), rebuild the carb ($25), new brakes ($80), change all the fuilds and filter ($75).

Enigine rebuilds run between $600 and $1000 depending what you run into (oil pump, water pump, head work, gaskets, etc)

My rear tires were $175ea, and my fronts were $40ea.

It looks like the basic rebuild kit is about 300 depending on what you want (pistons, sleeves rings). Just looked in the rebuild kit link above. I didn't check, but I'll bet you'll up the bore in the process. I had a 38 at one time. Pretty cool, no hydraulics, no battery, starter etc. That was one of my favorites and the only thing non-original was trans-am bucket seat ;-).
