I'm looking for more info about installing a 3 pt. hitch on my '39 model B.

What I want to do is use it to lift & run a belly mower (4' - 5'). The present belly mower is small & ancient with a hand lift lever.

Anyone know how I can best accomplish this. Also, who makes a quality belly mower??

Thanks,

Gary
Baton Rouge

YOU CAN LIFT A BELLY MOWER WITHOUT A 3 PT. WOODS MOWERS COME WITH BRACKETS TO USE PRESENT HYDRAULIC CYLINDER. BOB

Pilot199, I have a 3 pt. on my 1941 B and it comes in handy, however if I didn't have it I think I would go ahead and get a pull behind mower from the local TSC. I've seen 'em in action and they're pretty slick.

I just bought a 1939 B A/C It only has a hand crank, is there a safe way to crank it so as not to get a broken arm? Any info will be appreciated.

Woods makes a good belly mower, but they ain"t cheap! You might get a used one for $500 or $600, but make sure it came off a B. The mounting brackets are different for each tractor. What"s wrong with using the hand lift? I have a 5 foot deck on my Farmall A, and with a spring assist, it lifts pretty easy. If you just want 3 point for lifting a belly mower, I would save the money and stick with the hand lift. Just my opinion ....Stan
