Hi Gary,

In addition to what has been said, your engine serial number should end in a K if it is (was) a low octane fuel (tractor fuel) engine. The normal high octane gasoline engine serial numbers end in a G.

I'm guessing your talking about an all fuel type engine, right?? If so and its the engine that came in it the you will have 2 fuel tanks one small and one large. If it doesn't have 2 then its a gsa only tractor

Along with 2 fuel tanks in reply to old, 10-25-2005 11:30:33
From the factory it would have a heat retainer on the manifold and the pistons would have been shorter for lower compression.

Hood has had a tank attach to it at one time , and shutoff on big tank has two lines to it one has been crimp off. Serial number on tractor and motor show it is a 1940 . Manifold looks to be a gas. Thanks for information . Gary R.

You would see no difference in the manifold if the heat retainer had been removed. If it was over hauled it would most likely not have the short pistons. I have bought two B"s that were all fuel. One had the tank and the other one did not. Both had the heat retainer removed. One had short flat top pistons and the other one had crator pistons. The pistons were the 3 1/4" diameter. I still have the pistons out here for show and tell, as well as the hood with the small tank.
