I was wondering about putting a backhoe on my wd45? I once had a d-15 based I-600 backhoe with a full size (2000lb) backhoe. worked great. It seems the wd is the same size, why does it seem from what Ive read here its a bad idea. Hydraulics aside.

Son just purchased a backhoe which we mounted on a WD with some modifications mostly to extend the 3-point brackets so that the backhoe frame would clear the seat and fenders.

Hydraulics to operate the backhoe are driven by a PTO pump. Horsepower to operate the PTO pump - sufficient.

300 lbs added to the front end of the tractor to keep the front end of the tractor on the ground when traveling. Tractor's hydraulics pick up the backhoe just fine.
