I have a 1947 Allis model c.It was running fine NOW it runs terrible,It pops,back fires,and stalls out.If I remove #3plug wire it runs better, put wire back in and it stalls out.What could it be ANY IDEAS ?

You likely have a cracked magneto or distributor cap which could cause 2 cylinders to fire concurrently, one erroneously. There is a remote chance a hole could have burned through the manifold between the intake and exhaust chambers.

only thing i can think of is maybe a stuck or burnt valve in #3...do a compression test and see how they all measure up
