I bought an AC 180 diesel this past spring. Only thing I have used if for is raking hay with a twin vee rake. 3 point seemed to raise and lower it ok. Took off the rake today and tried to hook it to a 6 foot leveling blade. 3 point would not lower enough to hook up the blade. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions appreciated!

Finally got them to go down. Had a friend stand on the hitch arms while I pushed the lowering lever down. Had tried that by myself by standing on the arms but couldn't get far enough back and still operate the lever. The arms still will not go all the way down by themselves.

Thanks to all who responded. I do appreciate your input!

Gwece,

Look at the external rams attached to the lift arms and see if they are bottomed out in the lowered position. You should not see much if any silver on the ram piston. If it looks like the ram has not bottomed out then most likely a valve is stuck in the controls.

Did you check to see if your position control lever is set to let it all the way down? Is it al the way forward? On my 170 I have winging cranks that can change the height of the draft armes by a few inches.

Yes, tried it with the position control lever forward. I tried both the pc lever and the draft lever in every position, still no complete lowering. The arms will drop some when lowering lever is pushed forward, but not nearly low enough. It did seem to lower more when the hay rake (heavy) was attached. I even tried standing on the arms while pushing the lift arm lever forward.....no difference. My lift arms will adjust too, but they are still not lowering nearly enough hydraulically.

how low are you trying to go? mebbe its an orange thing but my d17 wont go all the way to ground like my ford does...i just keep a cinder block handy to set front of implements on.
could be oversized tires causing it too
