AC B governor question

The shaft going into the top of the governor is loose on my B. It will now and then come out far enough to cause the throttle lever to not control the speed at all. When this happens, I just need to push the shaft back in and it works fine until it happens again. Any suggestions about this one? I know next to nothing about governors. Is this a serious problem, or an idication of bad things to come?

If it is the pivot pin in the picture, take the pin out and coat it good inside and out with Loctite thread lock and tap it back in place. I have done several over the years this way and none of the tractors I still have here that was repaired with the Loctite has came back loose.

Hi Dick..it is the pivot pin that's coming loose. I'll give your fix a try. Thanks!

Loctite has another bearing loc that we repaired a fork truck transmission that might be better than the plain thread loc if the pin is real sloppy. A bearing ceased up and spun in the case on one of the shafts and the new bearing could be pushed into its place in the transmission case by hand and pulled back out. We picked up some of the bearing Loctite stuff and the fork truck is still working fine. That was at least 10 years ago.

Wear due to years of use- should be a replaceable bushing there. Got them for my WF at AGCO this summer.

What is the procedure for replacing the bushing? I'll give it a try if it's not something terribly difficult. Thanksf or the reply JMS.

Farmer, there is no bushing in that hole, you can have a machine shop put one in, or you can do the locktite thing, or you can JB weld it, or I like to peen the pivot pin with a chisel and that helps it fet real nice.
