I'm working on a 8550 that has slung the driveshafts and killed the hydraulic pump as well. Whats my best, and of course, cheapest way to "get her back up to speed".Any help is appreciated. Thanks, davids

i forgot to mention that the driveline splines have some sort of rubber coating.. if this coating is worn off it causes slop in the drivelines which can result in U joint and driveline slinging.

be aware that there ARE truck drivelines that will appear to work however due to the rubber coating and certain tolerances they will not fit tight.

which pump was destroyed? the one directly above the upper driveshaft on the dropbox or the one on the rear end housing?

if it is the one on the rear end.. that pump is the same i believe use in most of the 7000 series probably others but I couldnt tell you which

Hyd Pump-
I live near Abilene Machine... LARGE supplier of New, rebuilt and salvage parts for tractors and combines. they have 3 locations Abilene, KS... Belmond, IA and somewhere CA. Very good place to work with they can get what you need. website has all phone #s www.abilenemachine.com

Drivlines- abilene machine doesnt have much for 8550 salvage parts. however my father and i have gotten used drivelines from Mikes equipment in Buhler KS. also Inland Truck parts or similar shop can rebuild cv joints ann stock U joints that will fit the 8550.

and of course theres your agco dealer but you said cheap....

my father and i run 2 8550's any other questions just ask..
good luck

Abilene Machine? My experience with them has been crap. New hyd pump for M2 hydro two years ago- they would not stand behind it one year ago- said the local dealer has not bought one since a year to the day before my invoice. Imagine that! They would look for one. Haven't heard from them since. Course, if I ever take a road trip to visit my sister in AZ, it's right on my way..... ..I didn't know they were in salvage- no wonder about the 'new' pump.
