The WD-45 has a longer stroke crankshaft. 226 cu in for the WD-45 and 201 for the WD.

The WD 45 is a little more HP. The WD45 is 43HP and the WD is 34HP. On the wd theres a big plate on the one side of the engine on the WD45 there isn't a plate. There are a few other thing also but don't remember them for sure.

Also, the WD-45 has a bigger carb., bigger air cleaner, wider rear wheels and bigger rear tires. Then, there is the helical cut gear tranny that began with the late WDs and continued with the WD-45s and the 3 plate vs 2 plate hand clutch which came out after the WD-45 was in production. And, the "sound"!! I have both and the higher compression of the WD-45 just "warms the soul"!! LOL

Brian wouldn't it make more sence to answer the guy that asked the question then the guy that answers his question. You did this twice in one day with me.
