D17 Lift follow-up (TexasAllis others)

In my manual (in the troubleshooting section) the first test is to check pressure at the "remote ram connection". Is this the upper, rear-facing port on the transport valve or something else?

TexasAllis--I had a follow-up question on my previous post--if you could take a look at that one too.

Kevin,

Follow up to your question. Yes, plug off the line at the top of the housing. There should be a block tapped in the hole that runs a line to the traction booster and to the line back to the transport valve. You can plug the block or take it out and plug the hole in the housing you just wont have the TB guage working. Another option is plump directly to the block that has the remote coupler to run external Hydraulics. If you send me your email I can send you some pictures of my setup.

I tried to plug the port on top of the housing on the RH side. It also had a manifold block that included a small tubing connection for the traction booster gauge. When I did that though, the lift wouldn't come up at all. Isn't that the pressure side of the pump? If that one is plugged does the lift cylinder get its pressure from an internal line? Another problem I'm having is leakage on the JIC fittings where the 1/2 tubing flare connections are made up. Seems I can't tighten them enough to stop leaking. I was thinking of using an O-ring where the flare seats in the fitting but I know that shouldn't be necessary.

Thanks--I just sent you an email too. This thing is starting to wear me down so any help that gets the lift working will be most appreciated. My family members in Mississippi are expecting me to come back over next weekend with the tractor and it's not much use without the lift. Last weekend all I could do is "drag" things but that was better than nothing.
