First of all, thank you for the helpful replies to the previous posts..
My husband wanted me to ask if anyone knew how to remove the rear wheel off of the axil... he has tried everything with no luck...thanks

The service manual shows the use of a large gear/wheel puller to remove the wheel itself....removing the wheel is part of the procedure for disassembly of the final drives.

They can be a bear. I take the tire and rim off and use a sledge hammer. a coulpe a whacks and turn the wheel a little less than a quarter of a turn and whack it a coupla more times and turn some more. Round and round. If you can rig a puller it helps take a way some of the sledge time. Some will pop right off. Others will make you think bad thoughts before they give up. Heat helps as well. Heat will cause the cast to expand and loosen its grip on the axle. My fire wrench is usually not where I am working on a cast hub and I don"t take time to go after it. They will let loose in time.
