Hello again. I recently installed a new sediment bowl on the B and put a small amount of gas into it to see if it had any leaks. Seemed to work OK and didn"t leak, so I came back a few days later (today) and put a couple more gallons of gas in to check for leaks. Didn"t see any leaks on the outside, but the petcock doesn"t shut all the way off and the little amount of gas I had in it all ended up in the carb., air cleaner, etc. What do I do now? The petcock closes most of the way, it just lets a slow, steady drip-drip; enough to flood over a few days.

Another question..this is still the 6 volt positive ground system, which charges and works just fine, BUT the battery"s low from cranking it trying to get it to fire after cleaning all the gas out. How can I safely jump this from a vehicle? I don"t have access to a charger, nor do I have the money right now for one. Any help would be great.

Same out of tolarance C-Hina machine tool may have run your new bowl that ran the last two I got from TSC. No way for them to shut off due to the seat being machined into the passage from the tank. Other times crap gets pinched in the seat when sut off. This can be checked by truning the whole valve out of the bowl assembly using the hex closest to the bowl itself, the one closest to the hand valve is the gland.

While you may have a problem with the petcock- the flooding problem comes from the carb. Could be a stuck float, gunk in the needle valve, etc. Many AC tractors can be shut off for months without shutting off the tank valve, since the carb is ok. If the tank petcock does not seal- maybe it's gunk in that valve that came from the tank----fix that, shut off the valve, fix the carb. An easy fix for gunk in the tank is take the glass bowl fitting off, insert an inch of plastic hose inside the fitting, reinstall. Keeps the crud floating around the bottom of the tank from getting into the bowl fitting. Jumping with 12v- go straight to the starter- spins it twice as fast.

What would be my best bet, taking the carb. apart and seeing what things look like in there? Would I need a new gasket kit if I tore into it?

first off take that petcock back and tell them its defective.

you can jump start it from a 12 volt battery WITHOUT the donor vehicle running and make sure it isnt touching tractor...connect positive to positive and negative to negative in that order...theres no 100% safe way to jump start but as long as you have plenty ventilation it shouldnt blow up ;)

I use a 12 volt battery all the time to start my 6 volt tractors. With the positive ground tractors I put the positive clamp on the tractor frame,(on my B"s I have a bolt screwed in the side of the bellhousing, you can use the starter lock nut) and put the negative on the starter. As soon as it starts I remove the negative clamp. I never hook battery to battery.
