Just brought my new 1937 wc home, is there sources for used parts? found a horizoneal crack in the side of the block by the petcock. Can this be welded, or can a diff. enginr be bought.
This tractor has 11-26 rears on it, Is this a normal size? It looks like cut off spocks welded to a newer rim. What is the preferred tire size for this tractor as it will be pulled occasionally Thanks Cobb

Ditto on what mike said about the jbweld. If no leak is apparent, sand the paint off.. clean with carb or brake cleaner as it leaves no residue, and then spackle with jb weld.. You can use a piece of sand paper as backing, and it will look like cast, if you are worried about appearances.. though on a 'worker' shouldn't matter.

Brazing is the next best option.. more permanent.. doesn't have the catastrophic problems like welding cast.. etc.

That said.. a good/great welder / machinish may repair the block. There is also a dril/tap/fill technique called stitching that can work.. though is costly and time consuming sometimes.. etc.

We got our 1935 WC home in April. We have obtained nearly all the parts to restore it. Our block was cracked in the same place as yours. It was all sealed and hasnt leaked a drop since we got it home. Welding is possable but hard to find a good welder that can weld cast without making things worse. If it isnt to bad try JB Weld, you can sand and paint it and no one will be the wiser. Just clean it to bare metal befor you start. Email me and ill give you some places to find parts. Good luck and have fun!

Factory sizes were 11-28 and 13-24.
