My dad pulled 2-14 for years . Then he got the idea to raise the hitch and pull 2-16. Had to steer with brakes sometimes and downshift, but at the end of the day, more clay ground was plowed.

I never pulled with one, but our neighbor pulled two 14s in heavy soil. This was in the hills of western Wisconsin.

My father had pulled a 3-14 JD plow with his 37 unstyled WC for years here in Central Mn. It had fluid in the rear tires, probably pulled it in second gear between the rocks and gravel.

It has been my experience in average clay loam that an AC "WC" properly weighted and with Fluid in the tires will handle a 2/14" Pull Plow very nicely. Im my part of Northern ILL. asking a "WC" to pull a 3/14" Plow is to much. The only time I could Pull a 3/14" plow was with a WD"45" Gas with a Mounted Plow. With my 190 Gas I pulled 4/14" Slat Bottoms Snap Coupler equipped very well. The 190 Gas was far from an 190 XT as I have seen some of them handle 5/14" Mounteds very well. That is after they had the Differential update and the Injector Pump boosted. .

the WD and WC have the same displacment engines but the WD engine turns at a faster speed giving it more power.

I pulled 2-14s in second gear with my Dad's late WC. In our clay soil that was enough.
