I WOULD LIKE TO FIND THE BRACKET FOR THE 80R MOWER TO MOUNT IT TO MY D14. I ALSO NEED THE MOWER BAR AS MINE WAS HIT BY THE SNOWPLOW AND SNAPPED IN HALF

I think the story about the snowplow hitting the mower should be posted here. Too much discouraging news since the hurricanes hit. Need some relief. How about welding the old bar back together? I do have an extra bar from my 80S on the WD45, along with some other parts, most of another mower- but no extra mounting bracket for anything. Not terribly interested in selling anything unless it is FOB- so why wouldn't a good weld job do the trick? If you 'V' grind the break, clamp it to a straightedge and weld it?

WELDING WAS A THOUGHT, I WAS JUST TRYING TO AVOID IT IF I COULD. THE MOUNTING BRACKET IS THE MAIN THING. I GOT SOME PICTURES FROM THE ALLIS CHALMERS WEBSITE AND I THINK I COULD MAKE ONE IF I HAD TO, BUT I WAS TRYING TO DO AWAY WITH THAT, I WANT TO KEEP IT AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE. THE BREAK IN THE BAR IS A FAIRLY CLEAN BREAK, I WILL TRY WELDING. I WAS JUST THINKING THAT MAYBE SOMEONE HAD ONE LAYING AROUND

I think I picked up a manual showing different mountings at the AC show in Hutch, MN. If it has pix, I'll let you know and I can send you a fax copy. I still want to hear about the snowplow and the mower- gotta be a good story there.....most of us don't cut hay in a blizzard, or plow snow in the summer..... lol

The Story in reply to JMS/MN, 09-27-2005 14:16:46
Well, I wasnt plowing in the summer or mowing in the winter so get all those redneck thopughts out of your head...hehehehehe. I dont actually have the mower yet. I bought my D14 about 18 months ago from the orginals owners son. (orginal owner passed away). He drug it from the fence row with a cable skidder and dropped it at my house with no front axle(another story)The tractor is finished now and if i knew how to post pics i would. The son has the mower, plow and loader that go with it its just i havene got to picking them up yet. The mower was sitting at his house on the edge of the driveway and in the winter the bar froze to the ground. He got off the driveway a little when plowing and hit the bar and SNAp....no its my problem.
