CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS BETWTEEN THE VARIOUS SERIES OF THE D17? I SEE A SERIES III AND IV BUT CANNOT TELL WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT EACH. IS THERE SERIES I?

Also...SI and SII had oil bath air cleaners and headlights on the front. Series III and IV have dry air cleaners, lights on fenders and oval mufflers. Series IV has external rear liftarm cylinders and a heavy drawbar and a factory 3pt was available.

Series I, II, III are very similar- They have live hyd and pto with the Power Director- ie hand clutch, middle position. Series IV has the hydraulic pump mounted in the pulley position, right side, under the fuel tank, and it is independent hydraulics- runs all the time with the foot clutch in or out.
