Rebuilding a 1939 B motor and notice there is no oil holes in the crank to oil the connecting rod bearings. Is all the B motors like this. Sorry, first Allis.

Will, the oil pump is at the back and pumps thru a hollow cam shaft. Holes in the shaft spray oil at the bottom of piston, drips into rods, and main bearings. Sounds like a poor system, but it works very good in reality. You only got 22 HP in 125 cubic inches and only run 15-1600 rpm. You next question should be "how does this filter work?" 85% of the oil goes down the cam shaft and used for lube, 15% is blead off and run thru the filter then dumped back to sump. The filtered oil is not used to lube the bearings. HOws that for a design.

Thanks for the info. Now I will send the crank out for grinding. Didn't know if Allis changed it in a later design. The motor will be going into an Allis RC that has an identity problem (1936 WC rear end) and this motor will be replacing the barly running 1948 C motor that is in the RC.
