I just bought a 1956 CA. The Hydrolics seem to pump-up and hold fine. But, they do not lower without a load. Is this normal? All of the tractors I have used in the past lowered under their own power.

It depends on how tight the cylinder packing is. The arms held up on my CA and hold up on my WD-45 as well. But they fall on my D-14, D-17 and C. If the packings are tight, the cylinder moves in and out with some effort. If they are loose, the arms will go down on their own. However, loose packing usually mean leaky cylinders. The D-14 and D-17 have the cylinders inside the rear axel and don't have packing.

I meant "hydraulics". I knew something didn't look right.
