Dear Sir, Sub: Grinding Mills- Media Change
We have two Kobelco Grinding Mills (10m EGL X 4.6m) supplied in 1983 and another mill (10m EGL X 4.6m) supplied M/s. Krupp Polysius in 1996 for dry grinding of Iron Ore. The present liners for all these mills are manufactured by MFL, Austria. Initially one of the mills had Armco forged grinding balls and the other one Maggottaux cast balls (25mm,30mm,40mm&50mm). Eversince 1995, we have standardised on Maggottaux cast balls in both the mills as well as the third mill supplied by Krupp. However, we are now considering using part of our requirement from M/s. Toyo Grinding Balls Co. Ltd, Japan. We will be grateful, if you could share your experience if any on this source of grinding media with us so that the shell and liners of our mills are reasonably protected with satisfactory grinding efficiency. An early reply will be highly appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Ismail Noor Acting Purchase Superintendent.
