"Sounds like you have found the problem to me, hand clutch. remove battery and box and remove cover from over top of clutch. Problem should be obvious, sheared key ih cross shaft from handle, broken shifter yoke etc."

This was from Butch in regards to my previous post last week, "WD won"t go". I checked it out yesterday and sure enough, I can see where something is missing, that would engage the hand clutch. Problem is, I don"t know what it would look like and the part that I can find is trapped under the shaft. What I can see looks like a yoke of sorts, there is a nut that must attach a top and bottom. Does anyone have a exploded view of this area? Also, the fluid had a milky look to it, like there was water in it. There was a tear in the gasket between the case and cover, is this a common area for water to get in?

Thanks for the help!

I think the most common place for water to get in is the boot missing or in bad shape on the shifter.

I had a WD that failed like this. The oil was milky and the shifter yolk had worn out. I built a new yoke and it is still working 9 years later. I have exploded views of the assembly. Send me an email and I will send to you.
