Loader lifting uneven

I recently bought a long model 610 tractor with an Allis Chalmers front end load. Both rams on the loader seem to be working but they start lifting at seperate times causing the bucket to lift cock eyed and stress the mounts where the loader is attached. I have very little experience with hydrolics. What should I check to correct this?

Have you checked the pivot pins and hole to see how worn they are? One of the cylinders may be tight and sticking also.

Joe, we checked all the pins and that was part of the problem. Once we corrected that we noticed we still have some issues. Thanks for the response.

My experience is that cycling the loader a half dozen times adequately clears the system of air.

My suspician is that the frame is bent from uneven lifting. The cylinders should be piped together. Loosen the fitting on the cylinder that seems to lag. See if oil is coming out when you lift. It is possible that you have a plugged line or fitting which will give you this appearance. Lossen the other cylinder like the first. Lift and see if oil comes out at the same rate.

If the oil flow is the same on both sides (this is critical), the system will have equal pressure in both cylinders. Therefore the lift will be the same on each cylinder. If it lifts crooked with equal pressure, the frame may be twisted.

Bleed the hydraulic lines to get rid of any trapped air.
