Might be a good idea to run the right rear wheel up on a six inch block to keep the oil in when you take the cover away from the mounting hole. There is a setscrew above the opening as well. Back that out. Insert the pulley assembly until it engages with the drive gear. You will notice a series of tapered holes in the outer sleeve of the pulley assembly. They are not drilled in a straight line- they vary somewhat so you can rotate the sleeve, and line up one hole with the setscrew and obtain proper gear backlash. That translates into being able to move the pulley about 1/8 inch back and forth with the gears meshed. When you find that hole, use a cold chisel to leave a mark on the sleeve, another on the top of the tractor channel frame. Then you can easily find the same hole when reinstalling the pulley. To disengage the pulley, slide it partway out and tighten the setscrew. The lock on the foot clutch pedal allows you to engage/disengage the pulley with the engine running. Otherwise you need to stop the engage to do the same. These instructions are in the Operator manual- essential book to have to get familiar with the tractor.
