I just bought my first Allis it's a WD, I believe it is a 1954. It is a 6v system and is not charging, but there is in-going and out -going juice to and from the generator and relay. The ammeter is bad and so is the light switch, the key was replaced with a toggle switch (kill switch) that is discharging in either position. and the hole wiring system is home made so it appears. Need help with a wiring diagram or advice. The engine runs great and tranny shifts great, all good hydralics. But there is a horrible oil leak, where the crank stater enters the crank case at the oil pan. How difficult is it to replace that seal? Thank you for any and all Info

Identify the source of the leak first- if not the front seal, the cork seal at the front of the oil pan could be bad too. The front main seal can be replaced by removing the radiator, and then the front cover. Not all replacement seals are as good as the original. NAPA number is not as good as the Victor seal. Install the seal in the front cover, center the cover on the crankshaft, then tighten down the cover.

Sounds like you are referring to the front seal. I believe this can be changed without pulling the engine. You'll need to remove the radiator. The crank must have the pin (toward the engine from the back of the steering case) pulled so that the hand cranking shaft can be pulled out to max. You'll need to dig out the old seal using extreme care so that the crankshaft and the seal seating surface in the crankcase is not scratched.
