Tonight I removed the timing cover on my C. The timing marks on the crank, cam, and governor gears are not timed properly. I understand which marks go where, but how do I do it? I think I can just pull out the governor and turn it( I think I will also have to retime the mag), but what about the cam shaft or crank? Any advice will be great. Thanks, Tim

Yup, I understand your problem. You will need to drop the pan. Then you can slide the cam out the front enough to match the timing marks on all three gears. Leave the cam gear in the exact position and turn the crank and governer gears to let the cam oil pump pin slip slip back into the oil pump matching slot. Support the cam as you pull it out so as not to damage the cam bearings.

Now, You will not be able to slide the cam out without removing the rocker arm assembly and push rods. With out turning the engine upside down you will have to work with each lifter as you slide the cam back in as they will catch on the cam lobes.
If I was to retime it here, I would remove the engine and turn the block upside down. I do have all the equiptment and it would be easyer and faster. I do not know what you have to work with. If you can"t turn it over, (watch your temper) and you will be able to retime it. Some little blocks of wood might be able to hold all the lifters up at the same time.
