Dan,

We specialize in F/M service and rebuilding. We have all the correct parts in stock to service your mag. Put the correct coil in it. When you start drilling holes and changing things around to make it work, it allows moisture to get into the mag and you'll be constantly cleaning points because it wont' start. Drop us a line if interested. The correct coil is the better way to fly whether you get it from us or whomever....

Yep....

Remove the internal coil. Remove the high tension lead. The high tension lead is screwed into the cap. Drill a hole in the cap where the high tension lead would have been. Start with a small hole. Make sure you have contact with all the metal inside the plastic. Use an auto coil wire in the hole. The cap end of the coil wire must contact the metal in the cap. If this will be a neg ground run the small 12g wire from the neg side of the coil through the bolt hole that held the shutdown grounding strap. Attach this wire inside where the old coil was attached. Run wire with a switch to the positive side of the coil.

When you want to shut off the tractor turn off the switch.

Becareful of the coil used. If it is 12 volt make sure it has a internal resistor or use a resistor inline. Points do not like a full 12 volts. They will burn up quickly.

E-mail if you have more questions.
